The Republic
It looks like House Republicans are going to cave into Trump and vote to pass a continuing resolution to fund the government. So, it is up to Senate Democrats to stand firm and defeat the resolution, causing the government to shut down. Mainstream media will blame them for the shutdown. The future of democracy is in their hands. The Republicans need sixty votes to pass the resolution, they have fifty-three, seven short. The Democrats must stay firm and know we are in a constitutional crisis, even though the Supreme Court does not think so, allowing Trump’s coup, i.e. Elon Musk, to take over the government and doing nothing to stop them. The Democratic Senators are the last barrier; they must not give Republicans the votes; the future of the country is in their hands; the coup must not succeed. Long live the Republic!
