China, WHO, President Obama, now the CDC is to blame. Peter Navarro, Trump adviser said, “Early on in this crisis, the CDC, which had the most trusted brand around the world in this space really let the country down with the testing. Not only did they keep the testing within the bureaucracy they had a bad test and that set us back,”[i] This is the blame game. Everyone and everything is to blame except for Trump. We’ve come a long way from the days’ President Truman had a nameplate on his desk that said: ‘The buck stops here’. You may be too young to remember President Truman. He was president from April 12, 1945 – January 20, 1953. He’s ranked by historians as one of the top ten presidents. Truman was an ordinary man, not a billionaire. He failed in life more than he succeeded. But as president, he rose to the challenge. Truman initiated ‘The Marshall Plan, also known as the European Recovery Program, was a U.S. program providing aid to Western Europe following the devastation of World War II. It was enacted in 1948 and provided more than $15 billion to help finance rebuilding efforts on the continent. The brainchild of U.S. Secretary of State George C. Marshall.[ii] It’s funny, does history repeat itself? The democrats think so. They keep saying, “We need another Marshall Plan to deal with the worst crisis the US has faced since World War II. Only now, the money needs to be spent to rebuild America. ‘The buck stops here’, the nameplate on Truman’s desk said.
